ORSC began as a germ of an idea about 6 months previous to the US Government telling its contractor, Internic, to begin chargibng for domain names. Concerned about US government control of one vital aspect of an otherwise free and government unencombered internet we began kicking ideas around about what to do about it.
In 1998 we incoroporated to respond to the USG NOI. We've been providing DNS root service for about a decade now. |
